YUM…Remember the trips to Grandma and Grandpaw’s when you were just a pup?
- ½ cup honey
- ¾ cup unsweetened applesauce
- ¼ cup molasses
- 1 egg
- 2 ¼ cups white flour
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon ginger
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon ground cloves
- ½ cup chopped peanuts
Preheat oven to 350°F. Mix together honey, applesauce, molasses and egg in a bowl. In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking soda and spices, then stir into the molasses mixture.
Drop teaspoonfuls of the mixture onto a greased baking sheet. Sprinkle a few peanuts on top and pat down gently with your hand (or paw). Bake for 8 to 10 minutes then cool on a rack before serving. Store in an airtight container for up to 4 days or wrap well and freeze for up to 2 months (thaw before serving)
Yield: Makes approximately 25 golden-baked, paw-natural cookies
