- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 2 tablespoons molasses
- 2 tablespoons canola oil
- 1 cup buttermilk
Preheat oven to 375°F. Grease a baking sheet with nonstick vegetable spray. Stir together the flour and baking powder in a large bowl. Stir in the molasses and oil until the mixture is blended. Slowly stir in the buttermilk to form a soft dough.
On a lightly floured surface, roll the dough out with a rolling pin to a ¼-inch thickness. Cut into 2-inch rounds with a cookie cutter and place on the baking sheet.
Bake the biscuits for 15 minutes, or until lightly golden in color. Cool to room temperature before serving. Store in an airtight container for up to 1 week, or wrap well and freeze for up to 2 months (thaw before serving).
